His precise knowledge of the industry combined with his charismatic persona have allowed him to become one of the most popular home builders and re-modeler in the area. Beyond his success in custom-home building, Todd is also an accomplished real estate broker in DMV. His expertise includes site procurement, development, financing, and architectural planning, along with an understanding of current marketplace trends, and the ability to boost the resale value of residential properties; he apples his comprehension of the industry to all of his projects and customer interactions to create a seamless experience from start to finish.
Andrea Novakovich Wood

Andrea is the co-founder and is responsible for two of the most intimate aspects of the custom home building process: Customer relations, and Interior Design and Finishing. She has a knack for making clients feel comfortable and confident about the entire build and design process. Her ability to break down the daunting task of designing a home into a series of manageable decisions is why customers consistently enjoy working with her Andrea has close to 35 years combined experience in the mortgage and home building industry. She knows how to apply her design expertise and recommendations to the client’s vision to ensure they love every aspect of the interior of their home. Her innate design, acute organizational skills, and professional insight into mortgage finance are what makes her an advisor that the customer can trust every step of the way.
Caliex Gumbs
Caliex GumbsChief Designer
Having over 22 years practicing, Caliex received a Bachelor’s of Art Degree in architecture at Pratt Institute, and over the next decade, progressed from internship, ultimately to junior partner at WMKA. Caliex established the firm’s southeast operations in order to innate projects throughout the east coast and internationally. Over time, in a effort to participate beyond the design phases, Caliex shifted persuasion to Design-area of architectural design and code-compliance. His focus at Castlewood (based on the collaborative nature of residential architecture) is the development of the client’s vision for their residence, the production of the architectural design documents to achieve that end, and the acquisition of the necessary clearances toward building that ideal home.
Jim Kyak
Jim KyakProject Manager
Jim has 18 years of experience in all phases of construction management in the DC metropolitan area. He has a impressive track record of outperforming the competition in highly competitive markets and always completing projects on time within present budgets. Jim is known for making sound decisions to resolve project obstacles promptly, and has extensive constructing high end residential dwellings. He has a deep commitment to Castlewood’s company goals to build quality homes and work diligently to exceed the customers expectations.
Steve Brauch
Steve BrauchProject Manager
Steve started in construction in 1981 with his own small home improvement company that specialized in remolding basements, kitchens, baths and room additions.As a contractor, his business continued to grow from framing custom houses in Potomac and Bethesda, Maryland to building entire homes. This process allowed him to be intimate with all aspects of residential construction.From 1997-2013, Steve worked for a local builder as a Superintendent where he worked closely with homeowners, sub contractors, and county inspectors to successfully complete over 75 spec and custom homes.There is no aspect of residential construction he has not done personally so his unique viewpoint allows him to work well with clients and contractors to put out a high quality, creative product. He looks forward to working with you!

Rachel is often the first person you’ll speak to when you call or step into our office. Rachel supports our company on all our administrative tasks so that our team can focus on producing a beautiful project for our clients. A veteran here at Castlewood, she has been with our team for 7 years developing her knowledge of the home building process along the way. She graduated from the University of Maryland in 2013 with her Bachelors in Human Resource Management.
